Spurs have accepted the loan offer from Galatasaray for Japhet Tanganga with The Athletic reporting that the defender now needs to make a decision on whether he wants the move.

Tanganga could well spend next season away from North London. It comes after a campaign in which he struggled with injury.

The 22-year-old did impress when he was involved. But Spurs appear to be open to the idea of the youngster continuing his development elsewhere.

It was recently reported that Gala had approached Tottenham about a loan move.

Football London then suggested that Spurs would rather see him join a British club for the coming season. But it seems he could indeed head to Turkey.

According to The Athletic, Tottenham have accepted the loan bid. It is claimed that it is now up to Tanganga to decide whether he wants to move to Istanbul.

Interestingly, reports from Turkey this week suggested that Tanganga was the one who had given the move the green light.

Fanatix claimed that he had agreed a deal in principle with Fatih Terim’s men. And it was down to Spurs and Galatasaray to finalise terms – with the latter keen to agree an option to buy.

The news of a potential option did not go down at all well with Tottenham fans on social media.

Fortunately, The Athletic makes no mention of such a clause. And they do say that Tanganga would like to stay.

But he is prepared to leave if he feels that game-time will be at a premium. Meanwhile, a Premier League loan is also still possible.

Tanganga would have easier time proving point to Spurs by snubbing Galatasaray and going on loan in England

Gala could offer Tanganga Europa League football next year. However, he would surely be better off staying in the Premier League if a decent option emerges.

He needs a loan where he can really catch the eye of Nuno and his team. And while he would not be off their radar in Turkey, it would certainly be easier for the starlet to prove a point by staying in England and coming up against the same opponents Spurs face.
