A report from Turkish outlet Fanatik has claimed that Japhet Tanganga has an agreement in principle to leave Spurs for Galatasaray on loan this summer.

Tanganga is seemingly in contention to seal a temporary move during this window. The 22-year-old has endured a mixed time since bursting into the first-team in North London.

When he has played, he has looked a superb talent. However, staying fit has seemingly been an issue. And it is not quite clear just yet what his best position is.

It was recently reported that Gala had made a bid to take the academy graduate on loan for the coming campaign.

However, Football London followed that by reporting that Tottenham would rather Tanganga joins a British club on loan.

Interestingly, reports in Turkey this week would suggest that the player himself is ready to join Fatih Terim’s men.

Fanatik claims that the club have an agreement in principle with Tanganga. But they also report that Galatasaray are continuing to negotiate with Tottenham.

In fact, they claim that talks over a potential purchase option are taking place.

Spurs surely unlikely to let Tanganga loan include purchase option

A loan move may well make sense for both Spurs and Tanganga. With his talent, Tottenham need to take the decision that gives him the best chance of realising his potential.

If he is unlikely to play much for Nuno Espirito Santo this term, a temporary exit may be the smart play.

However, it is incredibly difficult to imagine Spurs agreeing a loan that includes an option to buy.

Opening the door to such a deal would be a huge gamble. If Tanganga kicks on, he could arguably have a very good career ahead.

If a purchase option is a deal-breaker for Gala therefore, Tottenham simply have to walk away from talks.
