Report: Sonny Perkins has made big impression on Leeds coaching staff
Sonny Perkins has already made a big impression on the Leeds United coaching staff following his summer move from West Ham, according to a report from The Athletic.
Perkins’ move to Elland Road was recently confirmed. The 18-year-old left the London Stadium after failing to agree a new contract with the Hammers.
The starlet has not been able to feature for Jesse Marsch in pre-season. But it certainly appears that he has taken little time to position himself knocking on the manager’s door.
The Athletic reports that Perkins has already made a big impact at Thorp Arch. It is suggested that the coaching staff have been left extremely impressed by the versatile forward.

It did appear to be a coup for Leeds to sign Perkins this summer. He got the chance to make his West Ham debut during their Europa League run last season.
And reports claimed that Tottenham were keen to sign the teenager before he decided to join Leeds. So the Whites certainly seem to have a very highly-rated talent on their hands.
Obviously, Leeds have had real success recruiting young players in the last few years. Joe Gelhardt is arguably one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League right now.
But the Whites also have the likes of Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville pushing for a chance in the first-team. The Athletic notes that all three players are in talks over a new contract.
Perkins has hurdles to clear before he is a first-team player at Elland Road it seems. But the early signs are looking extremely positive.
