Celtic are prepared to pay up to £8 million for George Baldock after Ange Postecoglou gave a potential move his backing, according to a report from The Star.
The Hoops have been linked with the right-back over the last few days. It was recently noted that they were interested back in 2019.

Of course, Celtic have few options at right-back as things stand. Jonjoe Kenny has returned to Everton after his underwhelming loan.
And in his place, it appears that they have set their sights on the Sheffield United man.

Unsurprisingly, plenty of Blades supporters have reacted to the reports by insisting that Celtic need to pay big money for the 28-year-old.
And it appears that the club agrees.
According to The Star, Celtic are thought to be prepared to pay between £5 million and £8 million for the full-back.
It is noted however, that Slavisa Jokanovic’s men are likely to want a lot more for Baldock.
Celtic may need to go big if they want to sign Baldock
Sheffield United are under little pressure to sell. Baldock is under contract until 2024.
So they can dig their heels right in.
Obviously, Baldock could perhaps help Celtic out by suggesting that he would be interested in a move.
But as things stand, it would appear unlikely that Baldock will join the Hoops.
There looks to be some distance between their respective valuations. And if that situation is going to change, it will surely be Celtic that need to alter their stance.
