Report shares Bayern Munich stance on Leeds star Raphinha

Leeds United’s hopes of holding onto Raphinha have been dealt a blow with Jeunes Footeux reporting that Bayern Munich are keen on the winger as a potential alternative to Ousmane Dembele.

Raphinha’s form has been massive plus for Marcelo Bielsa’s side so far this season. The Brazilian has scored seven goals in 15 Premier League appearances for the Whites.

No other player in the Leeds squad has scored more than twice in the top flight. And as Bielsa’s men deal with a cluster of injuries, Raphinha’s ability to make things happen in the final third has become all the more important.

And with that, keeping him is going to become increasingly challenging.

Liverpool have been linked with a move in the past. And Jeunes Footeux reports that Bayern have joined the race.

It is noted that the Bavarian giants have their eye on attacking players amid doubts over Kingsley Coman’s future. Dembele is another player on their radar.

Of course, signing the Frenchman is not going to be easy amid reports that he earns £200,000-a-week at Barcelona.

This latest report suggests that Leeds value Raphinha at around £34 million. But it is hard to imagine the Whites not demanding a lot more, particularly if they manage to pull away from the relegation zone in the months to come.

Having said that, Bayern would not be the worst club for Leeds to sell Raphinha to. Obviously, the fans will hope that they can keep him for as long as possible. However, they have always been realistic about the fact that Leeds need to keep moving forward to stand a strong chance of holding onto the 25-year-old.

Finding a buyer outside of the Premier League would surely make his potential departure slightly easier to stomach. But Leeds fans will be hoping that that is not something that they have to worry about for some time yet.
