Report shares Adama Traore stance on new contract amid Tottenham links
Wolves’ talks with Adama Traore over a new contract remain at an impasse, according to a report from The Athletic – in news that may certainly catch the eye of Tottenham Hotspur.
Adama is one of the players reportedly on Spurs’ radar heading into the January transfer window. Interestingly, the reports seemed to divide some of the Molineux fanbase.
The Spain international is clearly one of the most dangerous players in the Premier League. At his best, he seems to be absolutely unplayable.
However, he has been nowhere near productive enough in front of goal. The 25-year-old – who cost £18 million – has two goals and two assists in the Premier League since the start of last season.
Nevertheless, Antonio Conte seemingly believes that he would be a good signing for his squad. And it would appear that the likelihood of Adama leaving Wolves may be increasing.
The Athletic is now reporting that talks over a new contract remain at stalemate. It is suggested that he believes that he should be one of, if not the, highest-paid player at Molineux.
His deal expires at the end of next season. And The Athletic suggests that it is hard to imagine that Wolves will allow Adama to stick around into the final 12 months of his contract.
Adama Traore could be devastating at Tottenham if Antonio Conte can get best out of him
Tottenham fans are frequently discussing the ‘Conte effect’ on social media after games. The likes of Ben Davies, Harry Winks and Lucas Moura are all threatening to be transformed under the Italian.
It is frightening to think what Conte could potentially do with Adama if a move takes place. If he can unlock the former Barcelona man’s full potential, signing him could be a masterstroke.
