Report: 'Sensational' Premier League player now wants to leave, after being linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham

Ruben Neves has been linked with both Arsenal and Tottenham and reportedly wants to move when the summer transfer window opens.

Arsenal’s interest has been reported for longer, dating back to the summer transfer window when the Portugal playmaker was eyed up to replace Granit Xhaka.

Tottenham have been linked more recently as Antonio Conte firms up his plans for his first summer in charge, and needs to add some creativity to his midfield.

Neves has been loyal to Wolves and seems settled at Molineux, but ESPN are reporting now that he wants to leave the club this summer.

They say that agents within the game are aware of Wolves’ need to replace Neves in the summer.

The report also says that Neves and his agent Jorge Mendes want to engineer a move when the window opens, and that there is also interest from La Liga.

Mendes has been key to getting a higher quality of player through the door at Wolves, and that has put them in European contention this season.

But Neves is a Champions League standard player in truth and perhaps whichever north London club finishes fourth will have a better chance of signing him.

Neves has arguably had the best season of his career and his form has been ‘sensational‘ this season, according to Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville.

He has vast Premier League experience now, as well as huge quality on the ball and the steel needed to compete in the most fast-paced league in the world.

It is no surprise that there are interested parties but how much would he cost? Bruno Lage quoted £100 million at his press conference yesterday.

That would be a British record, which neither Arsenal or Spurs would go anywhere near, but it remains to be seen what happens this summer.
