Matt Doherty made big claim about Tottenham target Ruben Neves
Tottenham Hotspur have become the latest Premier League side to be linked with a move for Ruben Neves ahead of the summer, with 90min reporting that Spurs want the Portuguese.
Neves is apparently ready to leave Molineux at the end of the season. And clubs such as Arsenal, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid also have their eye on the £60 million-rated 25-year-old.
Neves has arguably been at his best for Bruno Lage’s men. He has been outstanding for much of the campaign. And it definitely appears that he has the quality to make a real impact amongst the sides looking to battle around the Champions League places.

He would not be the first to move from Molineux to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if a deal was agreed. Of course, Nuno Espírito Santo took the Spurs job after leaving Wolves at the end of last season.
And Matt Doherty has spent the last two campaigns in North London.
Obviously, during the Irishman’s time at Wolves, he played alongside Neves. In fact, the pair were on the pitch together 126 times.
And based on comments Doherty made back in 2017, he would be over the moon to be reunited with Neves at Tottenham next season. He suggested that playing with the Portuguese changed a lot for him.
“Last year I made a lot of runs and maybe didn’t quite get on the end of it – the quality of player we have this year is unbelievable in terms of passing,” he said, as reported by the Express and Star. “Neves’s passing is the best I’ve played with. It’s a joy to play with players who have that vision.
Ruben Neves could take his game to next level at Tottenham
Neves has been a fantastic servant for Wolves. He was vital in their promotion-winning campaign. And he has helped the club establish themselves as a top-half side in the Premier League.
You can understand why he may feel that the time is right to potentially move. And joining a club like Tottenham could help Neves take his game to that next level.
