Roma is thought to be an option for Antonio Conte should he leave Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Telegraph, with the Italian perhaps in line to succeed Jose Mourinho in the capital.

Conte’s future has become a talking point once again after it was claimed that he had told Paris Saint-Germain that he would be interested in succeeding Mauricio Pochettino at Parc des Princes.

It has been suggested that there is nothing in those reports. But it does appear that Conte is looking for assurances before deciding whether to stay at Tottenham.

The Telegraph reports that Conte wants Spurs to be battling for trophies. And he hopes to sign as many as six players during the summer.

Perhaps worryingly for Tottenham fans, The Telegraph does not indicate whether Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici have agreed to the demands. But it is claimed that their response could decide whether Conte stays beyond this season.

He will certainly have no shortage of options should he walk out. The Telegraph suggests that he is in contention for the PSG job. But it is also stated that Real Madrid and Roma are also thought to be options.

Of course, a move to the Giallorossi would see Conte succeed Mourinho. Roma are currently fifth in Serie A, five points adrift of Juventus in fourth. Fiorentina meanwhile, would overtake Mourinho’s men by winning their game in hand.

Tottenham losing Antonio Conte to Roma would be a huge blow

Of course, Spurs losing Conte would be a huge blow wherever he ends up. But it would be particularly worrying if he decided to leave Tottenham for Roma.

PSG have given Pochettino the tools to win the Champions League. Meanwhile, Real Madrid are into the semi-final of the competition. And they remain a European powerhouse.

Roma however, are in the same spot in Italy that Tottenham currently find themselves in the Premier League. So it would be a worrying statement concerning where Spurs find themselves if he went to Roma.

Tottenham look to have ‘incredible‘ potential with Conte at the helm. So the fans will be baffled if he ultimately decides he would be better off with Roma.
