Report claims Daniel Levy wants Pochettino back at Tottenham
Daniel Levy has maintained contact with Mauricio Pochettino and is working on a deal for the Argentinian to return to Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report from Get French Football News.
Pochettino is looking set to leave Paris Saint-Germain following their Ligue 1 title win, according to French outlet Le Parisien.
Perhaps bizarrely, it was also claimed in the same report that Antonio Conte has offered himself to PSG (via Get French Football News).
Football London journalist Alasdair Gold has since suggested that there is nothing, as far as he knows, in the reports linking Conte with a move to Parc des Princes.
But it would appear that Tottenham chairman Levy is making plans in case Conte does leave. Get French Football News reports that Levy has remained in contact with Pochettino in recent months.
And it is even suggested that Levy wants to convince Pochettino to return to Tottenham.
Surely no chance Levy is working on getting Pochettino back while Conte is at the helm at Tottenham
Some Tottenham fans probably expect Pochettino back at the club at some stage in the future. It does appear that he has unfinished business. And Spurs are yet to reach the same heights he took them to.
But surely, there is absolutely no chance of Levy working on bringing Pochettino back. They have a world-class manager in Conte. And they appear to have amazing potential with the Italian at the helm.
Of course, it makes sense to keep the options open in case Conte does walk away at any stage. But there is a difference between keeping in contact with someone, and actively working to convince him to return.
Pochettino did an ‘incredible‘ job at Spurs. But the club now have a manager who has the potential to take them to new heights once again.
And there is surely no question that Levy knows that.
