Report: Real Madrid very attentive to Bukayo Saka during World Cup
Saka, of course, was one of the players to steal the show for England in their curtain-raiser against Iran. The 21-year-old scored twice as Gareth Southgate’s men ran out 6-2 winners.
Arsenal fans will not have been surprised to see Saka shine on the world stage. He has been outstanding for several years now. And he has continued to impress now that Mikel Arteta’s men have got their act together over the last 12 months.
Real Madrid attentive to Saka
The good news for Arsenal is that Saka is in line for a new contract. The Daily Mirror reports that the Gunners are ready to put the youngster on £200,000-a-week.
And that may be particularly crucial. Sport is claiming that Real Madrid are closely monitoring a number of players at the World Cup. And Saka is one of them, along with Jude Bellingham and Alphonso Davies.
The report notes that Saka impressing at the tournament does Los Blancos no favours.
It is hard to imagine Saka moving anywhere anytime soon anyway. He surely has no reason to want to leave the Emirates. He is an integral part of Arteta’s side. And Arsenal continue to go from strength to strength.
Arsenal would also be mad to let him leave. Simon Jordan suggested on talkSPORT that Saka has the potential to be a £100 million player this week. But Gunners supporters may feel that he is there already. Roy Keane previously labelled him a ‘special‘ talent.
Perhaps a move to the Bernabeu will be something which appeals to Saka later in his career. But for now, it is difficult to see why he would be tempted by a move elsewhere.
