Report: Real Betis in talks to sign Serge Aurier from Spurs
Real Betis have seemingly opened talks to sign Serge Aurier with Spanish outlet AS reporting that Spurs are prepared to cover a large part of the costs to offload the Ivorian.
Tottenham fans will be hoping that the club will be able to announce the arrival of a new right-back on the final day of the window.
Emerson Royal reportedly wants to join Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. But obviously, that leaves Fabio Paratici with a potential issue.
Aurier’s prospects already looked bleak in North London. He openly admitted earlier in the summer that he was keen to leave.
And he is yet to feature for Tottenham this season. So it would be a big boost for Spurs if they could find a new home for the 28-year-old before the deadline passes.
And it appears that they may have made progress on offloading Aurier.
According to AS, negotiations with Betis have begun over a deal for the defender.
It is claimed that Spurs want him moved on at all costs. And thus, it seems that they are prepared to structure an enticing deal.
Emerson in, Aurier out is superb business from Spurs as Real Betis make move
What Spurs have done brilliantly this summer is move players on. Several have found new homes in this window.
And the icing on the cake would surely come if Tottenham could sell Aurier and replace him with Emerson.
At times, Aurier has been outstanding. But there have been numerous occasions when he has cost his side.
Emerson meanwhile, is much younger. And it would be no surprise if Barca decided to keep him if all of their financial concerns were suddenly alleviated.
