Report: Pulisic moving to Liverpool more viable than Juventus or Barca

Christian Pulisic moving to Liverpool looks to be more viable than the Chelsea star heading to either Barcelona or Juventus this summer, according to a report from The Athletic.

The Athletic notes that Pulisic’s future at Stamford Bridge is somewhat up in the air. He has been left frustrated over his game-time in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

The 23-year-old is about to enter the final two years of his contract with the Blues. And The Athletic suggests that there is currently no indication that he would be interested in signing an extension.

That may alert Liverpool. Reports in recent days claimed that the Reds had Pulisic on their radar amid speculation Sadio Mane could leave Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has been a long-time admirer of the USMNT international. He reportedly rejected the chance to move to Merseyside just before his £58 million switch to Chelsea.

And it seems that Liverpool may be front of the queue if Pulisic leaves Chelsea this summer. The Athletic suggests that joining the Reds looks more viable than a move to either Barca or Juve.

The report notes that there has been little to suggest that either of the latter two clubs would be prepared to offer a fee near the £58 million the Blues paid.

It would put Chelsea in a tough position if Liverpool offered around £50 million for Pulisic. Plenty of supporters would probably welcome the chance to offload him.

He only made 13 starts in the Premier League this past season. And he is edging towards the latter stages of his contract.

But others would be wary of what may happen if he gets the chance to join Liverpool. He is a ‘fantastic‘ player still with time to improve further.

Much will likely depend on whether Mane does manage to leave the Reds this summer. But if he does go, perhaps the speculation surrounding Pulisic will ramp up.
