Report: PSG turn to Tottenham linked Kessie as second choice
Paris Saint Germain are interested in a move for Tottenham target Franck Kessie, as reported by Defensa Central.
According to the publication, the French side have made the Ivory Coast international their second choice behind Paul Pogba.
PSG believe the 28-year-old prefers a transfer to Real Madrid over the French capital next summer. Hence, they are preparing to move for the 24-year-old African.
Gazzetta Dello Sport claim the club are willing to offer Kessie a €8m-per-year (£7m) salary.
Spurs are reportedly in for the central midfielder, whose contract expires at the end of this season.
It has previously been reported that the Lilywhites have put an offer of £132k-per-week on the table for Kessie.
Tottenham face fight to sign Kessie
If signing Kessie was proving difficult before, it has just got even harder.
Tottenham face a fight to sign Kessie amid alleged interest from PSG in the midfielder.
It’s hard to see how Spurs can convince the AC Milan ace to join the club ahead of such a massive team.
With Tottenham’s lack of Champions League football also likely to be a factor, it makes it twice as hard.
Competition in the Premier League has risen over the last few seasons, with teams like West Ham and Leicester joining the European picture.
It means that, despite winning their opening three Premier League games, Tottenham are not guaranteed a place in the Champions League.
The same cannot be said for PSG, who will surely line up in Europe’s premier competition every single year.
Throw in the ability to play with Neymar and Lionel Messi, and an offer from the side may be impossible to turn down.
