Report: PSG speak with AC Milan over Spurs target Franck Kessie
Spurs may have work to do if they hope to complete a deal for Franck Kessie, with Foot Mercato reporting that PSG have now spoken to AC Milan about a potential move in January.
Kessie’s future has become a talking point with his current deal with the Rossoneri up next summer.
Unsurprisingly, they want to keep him. Foot Mercato reports that their latest offer would see the Ivorian earn around £112,000-a-week at San Siro.
But Kessie is attracting some exciting bids elsewhere. Foot Mercato claims that PSG are prepared to pay him around £148,000-a-week should he move to Parc des Princes.
It is also suggested that Leonardo has spoken to Paolo Maldini about potentially doing a deal in January.
The PSG chief has suggested they could offer a small fee in the winter should Kessie make it clear that he wants to go.
That will surely alert Spurs.
It was previously reported that Tottenham had put a contract worth £132,000-a-week on the table.
So they will be very interested to know what Mauricio Pochettino’s men have up their sleeve as they look to seal a deal for the 24-year-old.
Huge coup if Spurs can beat PSG to Kessie signature
Kessie is arguably one of the most exciting midfield talents plying his trade in Europe.
So it would be really something if Spurs could win the race for his signature.
Clearly, they face a tough task. PSG can offer Champions League football. And obviously, they have put together an outrageous side, with many of the finishing touches coming this summer.
But Tottenham have advantages, too. The Premier League will appeal a lot more than Ligue 1 to many.
And game-time should be easier to come by in North London.
PSG appear to have now stepped up their pursuit. But Spurs surely cannot be ruled out of the race just yet.
