Report: Player reportedly on Arsenal radar is now set to sign for PSG
Last week, Arsenal were linked with a shock move for Sergio Ramos.
According to Goal.com, the Gunners asked the defender’s representatives to be kept in the loop regarding his future.
However, it looks as though speculation linking the two parties together is set to come to an end already.
The Guardian has reported that Ramos is set to undergo a medical at PSG ahead of penning a two-year deal.
The French giants are apparently also closing in on Gianluigi Donnarumma and Achraf Hakimi.
Ramos is currently a free agent after leaving Real Madrid at the end of the 2020-21 season.
Wishful thinking as far as Arsenal transfer speculation goes?
Obviously, stranger transfer dealings have happened in football, but in all fairness, not many Arsenal fans thought this deal could happen.
The Gunners aren’t in Europe at present and they don’t look likely to challenge for the Premier League just yet.
Ramos would’ve been a marquee signing for sure, but Arsenal would be better off building a spine for the future.
Meanwhile, PSG are desperate to bounce back following a poor season by their standards.
Their monopoly on the Ligue 1 title came to an end in 2021, and once again they failed to land the Champions League.
Therefore, it’s unsurprising to see them move quickly and decisively in the market, and going for top players.
