Report: 'Phenomenal' forward on Spurs radar now also wanted by Inter
Spurs have been linked with France forward Marcus Thuram in recent weeks.
Foot Mercato claimed in July that Tottenham had made the Borussia Monchengladbach ace a “priority” signing.
Although Harry Kane looks increasingly likely to stay at Spurs this summer, the Lilywhites could do with bolstering their attacking ranks further.
However, Spurs may now be up against Inter Milan for Thuram’s signature.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, the Serie A champions have been busy in pursuit of Romelu Lukaku replacements.
They’ve already landed Edin Dzeko and have now apparently taken a shine to Thuram.
While Inter are in the early stages of planning a bid, agent Mino Raiola has made contact with Gladbach over how much he’d cost, added the report.
Foot Mercato claimed last month that Thuram has a €30million (£26million) release clause in his contract.
Can Spurs land “phenomenal” forward?
Thuram is the son of France legend and 1998 World Cup winner Lilian Thuram.
He has carved out an impressive career of his own and looks set for a bright future.
Thuram started his career at Sochaux and earned himself a move to Gladbach in 2019.
He has made 80 appearances for the German club, with 25 goals and 21 assists under his belt.
Thuram’s efforts helped him make the France squad for Euro 2020.
Dennis Zakaria praised Thuram in 2019 after he scored a late winner against Roma in the Europa League.
“It was so important that Marcus scored that goal today,” said Zakaria, via Bulinews.
“He is a great guy, a little crazy maybe, but what he brings to the pitch is phenomenal.”
