According to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb, Tottenham Hotspur are really keen to sign Antonin Barak, who is an Arsenal fan.
Antonio Conte’s side are in a really strong position to finish inside the top four this season. It’s completely in their hands now and getting into the Champions League next term would be an extraordinary achievement considering where they were a few months ago.
Irrespective of what happens with respect to their league position, Tottenham need to have a very strong summer transfer window. Conte should be backed by the Spurs board – not just to keep him happy, but to make the club ready to compete with the better sides in the country.
One area where reinforcements will be really important is central midfield. Spurs have been linked with a whole host of names recently and the latest one to come out of the rumour mill is Hellas Verona star Barak.
Tottenham are pushing to sign Antonin Barak
The departures of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Dele Alli have left Spurs short of options in the middle of the park. They will need to bring in at least one new midfielder and Barak is an interesting option.
The Czech international is an experienced campaigner for club and country and he’s incredibly versatile too. He can play in all three central midfield positions, on the right flank and also as a centre-forward.
This season, Barak has played in all of those positions and has scored 10 goals in all competitions. That is a really good record for someone who currently plays for the ninth-best side in the country.
The report claims that Conte is really pushing to sign Barak this summer and Paratici is now ready to accelerate a move to bring the 27-year-old to North London.

The midfielder dreams of Arsenal move
If the report is to be believed, Conte really likes Barak, and a move to Tottenham would be a huge step up. However, his dream has always been to play for Spurs’ fierce North London rivals, Arsenal.
Back in 2017, Barak said in an interview, as quoted by Tribal Football, that he has attended Arsenal games in the past and that he still was a huge fan of the Gunners.
He further revealed that he idolised Thierry Henry, and of all the important clubs in the world, Arsenal and Barcelona are the two sides he wanted to play for.
It will be interesting to see how Arsenal fan Barak will respond if Tottenham come calling this summer.
