Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City have been in a transfer tussle for talented young defender Destiny Udogie.
The Athletic report that Spurs have won the chase for the young Italian, who will be loaned back to Udinese for the current season.
They report that practice of signing youngsters and loaning them out is usually preferred by City, but Fabio Paratici has helped Tottenham beat the champions to the teenager.
City do need a left-back, but ideally one who can come in and play a part this season after selling Oleksandr Zinchenko to Arsenal.

Tottenham beat City to Udogie
They have missed out on Marc Cucurella, who has now joined Chelsea after something of a transfer saga with Brighton.
It is expected that Pep Guardiola will get a new man for the left hand side of his defence before the end of the transfer window.
But Spurs have moved to seal the future of that side of the pitch, with Udogie and Ryan Sessegnon set to battle it out over the next decade.

Daily Mail report that Conte personally recommended the left-back to the Spurs hierarchy and wants him to join the club badly.
The report also says that the player is excited about the prospect of joining Tottenham and is very keen to work with his countryman Conte in north London.
Gabriele Cioffi, head coach of Udinese, has already described Udogie as ‘extraordinary‘ and he looks to have a big future in the game.
Paratici apparently met the player’s agent in June, laying the groundwork to beat City to this particular deal.
