Newcastle United are now close to signing England international Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal.
The Sun report that the wideman was meant to be playing for the Blues’ Under-21 side on Monday night.
But he was pulled out of the game, which apparently suggests he is close to making his move elsewhere.
Newcastle co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrad Ghodoussi were at Stamford Bridge on Sunday for the 2-2 draw with Tottenham.

Newcastle close to loaning Hudson-Odoi
As guests of Chelsea owner Todd Boehly, they spoke with west London counterpart Behdad Eghbali, and it would be a surprise if Thomas Tuchel’s fringe players were not on the agenda.
And the report says that Newcastle are now strong favourites to get a loan deal wrapped up within the coming days.
Newcastle have been looking for improved options out wide and through the middle throughout Eddie Howe’s first summer in charge.
Hudson-Odoi has faced a battle to establish himself in Thomas Tuchel’s side, although the German did call the winger ‘outstanding‘ last season.
He has been down the pecking order in the opening weeks of the season, despite Tuchel getting rid of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner this summer.
It was reported in July that Newcastle saw Hudson-Odoi as someone who could be a marquee signing this summer and they could be close to getting their man.
