Report: Nottingham Forest and Everton considered Ndombele move
Nottingham Forest and Everton have both considered moves for Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
Ndombele is certainly one player Tottenham would like to offload before the transfer window closes. He spent the second-half of last season out on loan after falling out of favour under Antonio Conte.
Conte has showed no desire to include him in his plans this year. And reports have suggested that he is now training with a handful of other players also available.
Ndombele has had a torrid time since moving to North London. But that has not stopped a raft of admirers coming forward. And actually, several have come from the Premier League.
Foot Mercato reports that Aston Villa, Everton and Forest have all considered Ndombele.
It is Napoli and Villarreal who currently lead the charge. Meanwhile, it is not exactly clear whether any of his Premier League admirers plan to make a move.
Everton and Nottingham Forest considered Ndombele
It would be no surprise if Ndombele did end up leaving the Premier League. His time in England has not worked out.
Having said that, it is no surprise to see Forest in the mix. Steve Cooper’s men have shown real ambition in the market since sealing promotion. And signing Ndombele would be a huge statement of intent.
Everton meanwhile, are looking to bounce back from a campaign in which they almost ended up getting relegated. And Frank Lampard may have perhaps wondered if, given his career, whether he may be the right manager to finally get the best out of Ndombele.
Certainly, there will be plenty of Everton and Forest fans who hope that that is the last of the links with Ndombele.
