'Ridiculous': Gold says Tottenham are now ready to accept almost any offer for two players just to get rid of them
Tottenham Hotspur midfielders Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso have been heavily linked with moves away from the club this summer. Now journalist Alasdair Gold has said Spurs are ready to accept almost any offers just to get rid of them.
The pair have been frozen out by boss Antonio Conte this summer after returning from loan spells during the second-half of last season.
Ndombele headed back to French outfit Lyon while Lo Celso joined Villarreal but neither have featured in any matchday squad since returning.
And Alasdair Gold has now said that the pair will most likely leave on loan due to a lack of interest from clubs in signing the pair permanently.
Spurs to accept any offers for Ndombele and Lo Celso
Speaking in his latest YouTube video, Gold said: “I think they’re just purely focused on outgoings. They’re trying to get those players out the door, because they’re struggling.
“There’s interest there, but they’re struggling to actually get anywhere near the money they [Tottenham] want and I think they’re at a place now where, especially with Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso, I think they just accept whatever they can get almost.
“They just want them out the door. Which is ridiculous when you think that they’re two of the most expensive players in the history of the club.
“But I think they’re at a stage now where, I wouldn’t be stunned if they both just end up going on loan, whether there’s an option to buy or not, I think they both just end up going on loan.”
It’s clear that the pair have no future under Conte and have even been training separately from the rest of the squad, alongside Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks.
The Italian will be hoping to resolve their futures before the end of the window as he will be reluctant to have unwanted players at the club this season.
It seems that Spurs may have to loan Lo Celso and Ndombele out once again with the view of moving them on permanently next summer.
