Newcastle United duo Callum Wilson and Allan Saint-Maximin are hoping to be back in time for the game against Fulham next weekend, according to the Northern Echo.
Eddie Howe’s side have been hit with injuries over the international break and the Magpies boss will be desperate to have his attacking duo back.
Bruno Guimaraes was not involved in Brazil’s win over Ghana on Friday and has been recovering from a thigh injury. The Northern Echo notes that Brazil are concerned over the injury, despite the player making a comeback against Bournemouth last weekend.
And striker Chris Wood was also taken off in New Zealand’s game against Australia due to an injury.
It’s been a difficult international break for the Magpies so far, but they could be handed a boost if Saint-Maximin and Wilson return to full fitness this week.

Wilson and Saint-maximin hope to be back for Fulham
But Howe will be reluctant to rush the pair back into action after being sidelined since the end of August.
Wilson has been hit with injuries since making the £20 million switch from Bournemouth back in 2020 (Sky Sports).
The 30-year-old got off to a brilliant start to the season as he bagged two goals in three games.
The Englishman picked up an injury during the 3-3 draw against Manchester City and has been sidelined since.

But Wilson trained ‘without any issues’ last week and could be set to return against Fulham.
Saint-Maximin is slightly behind Wilson and hasn’t taken part in any contact training at this stage, the Northern Echo notes.
Howe will be hoping the pair can work towards full fitness before the trip to Craven Cottage on Saturday.
