Newcastle United are leading the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur target Dean Henderson, with 90min reporting that he is keen to move elsewhere this summer.

It would be little surprise to see Henderson leave Manchester United at the end of the season. He has not made a single Premier League appearance during this campaign.

Reports on Tuesday claimed that he had been left furious by his inability to move ahead of David de Gea in the pecking order. And Tottenham are interested in signing the 25-year-old.

But it would appear that Newcastle are on pole position to sign the England international. 90min also suggests that Henderson wants to quit Old Trafford.

Newcastle now plan to push ahead with a bid for Henderson. And 90min reports that the Magpies are leading the battle for his signature.

Interestingly, Newcastle have told Martin Dubravka that they will not stand in his way if a suitable bid comes in.

Henderson should opt for Newcastle over Tottenham if both make bids

Newcastle are still a work in progress. Meanwhile, Tottenham may well be able to offer their targets Champions League football next season.

However, moving to Tyneside surely makes more sense. With Dubravka available, there is a much better opportunity for Henderson to establish himself as first-choice at Newcastle.

Tottenham have agreed a new contract with Hugo Lloris. So there are no guarantees over how much Henderson would play if he joined Spurs.

It would be a real coup for Newcastle to sign Henderson. He was previously labelled ‘incredible‘ by Jose Mourinho. And it would certainly seem that they are in with a brilliant chance of going on and securing his signature.
