Report: Newcastle have made contact with 20-year-old's agent; four top-flight goals this term
Newcastle United are amongst a host of Premier League sides to have made contact with the agent of Aguibou Camara, with people close to the midfielder expecting him to move to England next summer, according to a report from The Sun.
The Guinea international has been outstanding for Olympiacos so far this term. He has four goals in nine top-flight appearances. Meanwhile, he has two assists. He also bagged a goal in Champions League qualifying.
It was reported earlier this season that Liverpool have been scouting Naby Keita’s international teammate. But the Reds are not the only side in the running.
The Sun reports that both the Magpies and Leicester City also want the 20-year-old. The trio have apparently made contact with his agent.
It is claimed that his asking price is currently set at at least £20 million.
Interestingly, the report notes that those close to Camara believe that a move to the Premier League is likely next summer.
Camara likely to be a player to excite Newcastle fans if he makes St James’ Park move
Camara has tended to play in an advanced midfield role this season. But he is comfortable on either wing, or in a slightly deeper position.
He has certainly made an impact in front of goal. But he is more than happy to work incredibly hard for the team, often seen tracking back and getting stuck in.
His desire to win the ball back will get Newcastle fans off their seats just as much as some of the tricks and pieces of skill he produces going forward.
