Report: Liverpool to step up scouting of Aguibou Camara
Liverpool are planning to scout Aguibou Camara in the coming weeks after watching the 20-year-old twice already this season, according to CBS Sports.
What’s the story?
The Reds signed Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiacos in the summer. And it would appear that they are looking to sign another player from the Greek giants in the future.
CBS Sports reports that Liverpool sent scouts to watch the attacking midfielder in action against Fenerbahce in the Europa League in September.
It proved to be a successful evening for Camara, with his side winning 3-0 against the Turkish side.
And CBS Sports reports that Liverpool returned to watch him against Panathinaikos.
It is claimed that he is set to be watched several more times by the Reds over the coming weeks.
Liverpool clearly see a lot in Camara with Reds set to step up pursuit
Camara has enjoyed an interesting career so far. He joined Olympiacos from Lille this past summer despite only making one first-team appearance for the French side.
He has two goals and one assist in his first 10 appearances for his new club.
But he also has a handful of caps for his country, Guinea. And with that, he is obviously an international teammate of Naby Keita.
He is a player showing plenty of promise. He can play almost anywhere in the midfield, including on either wing. And he has even featured up front in the past.
His stay in Greece may therefore, not be a long one if Liverpool like what they see over the coming weeks.
