Newcastle United are plotting a move for Arnaut Danjuma, and the Sunday Mirror (3/4; page 71) reports that the Magpies could offer Miguel Almiron in a swap deal for the forward.

Danjuma has been an outstanding signing for Villarreal. He has scored 13 goals in 27 games in all competitions for the Yellow Submarine, including eight in La Liga.

And it seems that Eddie Howe is keen to be reunited with the Netherlands international.

The Sunday Mirror (3/4; page 71) reports that Newcastle want Danjuma, and could offer Almiron in a swap bid for the 25-year-old.

It is noted that Almiron will be allowed to leave Newcastle this summer. And so, the Magpies are hoping that he could help pave the way for a deal for Danjuma.

Newcastle signing Danjuma would be huge statement

Danjuma is unproven in the Premier League. He did not have the best time at Bournemouth until they were relegated from the top-flight.

But he appears to have taken his game to another level in the last couple of years.

He has scored five goals in eight Champions League appearances this term, including one against Juventus in their successful last 16 tie.

Louis van Goal described one of his displays as ‘spectacular‘ earlier this season. And he has a £63 million release clause, so he may not cost a fortune.

It would be a boost if Newcastle could include Almiron in the bid for Danjuma. Unfortunately, his move simply has not worked out. So it may be that he helps them most on his way out this summer.
