Spanish website La Colina De Nervion claim that Nuno Espirito Santo and Tottenham are set to table an offer of £50million to sign Jules Kounde. The Frenchman is considered a ‘priority’ for new Spurs boss Nuno. Manchester United and Manchester City have also shown interest in Kounde.
Kounde, 22, has thrown himself onto the radar of Europe’s biggest clubs after starring for Sevilla over the past couple of seasons. In just two years under Julen Lopetegui – a manager previously eyed by Spurs – Kounde clocked up 89 appearances. He also won the Europa League trophy.
Known for his pace, ability on the ball and strength, Kounde is set to become the subject of a £50million offer from Spurs. However, Sevilla want closer to his release clause – £68.5million. Manchester United are also keen, but the decision to sign Jadon Sancho may see them opt out of a race.

Tottenham transfer news: Nuno and Tottenham need brilliant Kounde
Last season was just another year in which Tottenham went through the motions. Jose Mourinho’s work in the transfer window was mediocre. It saw Spurs finish in seventh, despite Harry Kane winning top scorer and playmaker awards in the Premier League. It should have been better.
The glaring issue was at centre-back. It needs one or two signings and Kounde is perfect. Young but experienced, at £50million he would be a brilliant signing. But Sevilla are right to want more, he is worth it. Time will tell if the two parties can come to a compromise.
