Report: Tottenham make decision on £15k-a-week star for 2021-22, despite Kane situation
The Irish Independent claim that Tottenham have decided to loan out Troy Parrott once again this summer. The Ireland ace endured two tricky loan spells in 2020-21, but starred for his country. The report states despite the Harry Kane situation, Tottenham will send Parrott on loan again.
Kane, 27, is reportedly keen on leaving Spurs and a move could be orchestrated for the England skipper after Euro 2020. With Carlos Vinicius returning to Benfica after a tricky loan spell at Tottenham, Parrott is the only other recognised striker. But now, Spurs are set to let him go on loan.
The striker went on loan to Millwall last summer, but failed to score in 14 appearances. He dropped a division, moving to Ipswich in January but only two goals came in 18 games. However, the £15k-a-week (Mail) striker impressed for Ireland – netting a brace against Andorra.
Right decision by Tottenham to loan out Parrott – given Kane situation?
For the player’s career? Yes. Right now, in regards to the options they have in their current squad? Probably not. Parrott needs to go on loan, continue getting game time and rediscover the confidence that saw him net 17 times in 15 Under-18 games for Spurs. Still only 19, he is still very raw.
But with Kane likely to go, Vinicius gone and Gareth Bale also expected to return after a loan, Parrott might have been kept on side. Clearly, Spurs need at least one striker this summer and if Kane goes, then two.
