Report: Mourinho signing has been told he can leave Tottenham this summer

Football London claim Joe Hart has been told by Tottenham Hotspur and Nuno Espirito Santo that he will be allowed to leave the club this summer. The ex-England goalkeeper is now likely to be third choice, as Spurs close in Pierluigi Gollini. Now, Tottenham have told Hart he can go.

Hart, 34, only joined Spurs last summer on a two-year deal after leaving Burnley. Under Jose Mourinho, the 75-time England international played 10 times for Spurs – clocking up a decent tally of just eight goals conceded and five clean sheets. He failed to play in the league.

Now, a new report claims he can go. He has been told by the club’s hierarchy that he is no longer a part of their plans. Spotrac claims he earns £52,000 week, and has a year left on his deal. He would be battling with Alfie Whiteman to be third-choice stopper.

Hart needs to leave Tottenham for the good of his career

With Hugo Lloris seemingly remaining and Gollini likely to make 15 appearances this season in cup competitions – Hart needs to go. Whiteman is young, on a cheap contract and likely to be happy to sit around as third choice. Hart is on more than £50,000 a week.

He is too expensive to be third choice. For the good of his career, he needs to join a club where he is first choice going forward. Staying at Spurs will see his career stagnate even more than it already has done.
