Report: Marikanis is now personally trying to sign 20-year-old 'has everything' for Nottingham Forest this summer
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is personally involved in trying to sign Wolves midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
Forest have been the busiest Premier League team in the transfer market this summer, and Marinakis doesn’t look like he’s ready to settle on the squad Steve Cooper currently has going into the season.
Despite already bringing in 12 players for a combined £70m, Forest still look like one of the most exciting teams going into the final month of the market.
Marinakis personally involved in bringing Gibbs-White to Forest
It’s no surprise that Marinakis is trying to bring the 20-year-old attacking midfielder to Forest.
Gibbs-White was one of the best players in the Championship last season, scoring 10 goals and contributing 8 assists for Sheffield United, before Forest defeated the Blades in the play-off semi-finals.
The on-loan Wolves player wasn’t just instrumental for Paul Heckingbottom’s side because of his goal contribution, it was also his versatility that made him so important.
Gibbs-White turned out in five different positions last season, including ten matches as a centre-forward.
First choice striker Raul Jimenez has picked up and injury in pre-season, and Gibbs-White now offers Bruno Lage an alternative option up-front, and he has previously said he wants stay and fight for his place at Wolves this season.
After such a prolific season, it does feel like the attacking midfielder who ‘has everything’ in his game, is ready to step up to the Premier League.
Whether he’s turning out for Wolves or Nottm Forest this season, Marinakis will have his say on which club secures his long-term future.
