Report: Manchester City considering two-year deal for Serio Ramos

Manchester City are considering offering Sergio Ramos a two-year contract this summer as Pep Guardiola looks to freshen his squad up.

City lost out in the Champions League final at the weekend. Chelsea, once again proving too much for City and their Spanish boss.

Talk has already started about who Guardiola could look to move on and bring in for City this summer. A number of players, including Harry Kane and Jack Grealish, are thought to be on his list.

But ESPN claims this weekend that Ramos is another on the wishlist of the City manager. They claim that City are seriously considering giving Ramos a two-year deal.

Celtic fans left short-changed by Sky Sports once again

The Spanish defender is considered something of a legend in Madrid. But he is expected to leave this summer, with a new contract not coming to fruition.

As covered previously by TBR, the Evening Standard had claimed that Jose Mourinho wanted Ramos at Spurs. Of course, that one never came off.

Ramos has won everything there is to win in football, including four Champions League titles. He’s also won 180 caps for Spain, although he was left out for this summer’s Euros.

Sergio Ramos to Manchester City would be a real eye opening signing from Guardiola

It would go against a lot of the signings Guardiola has made in the past, if he does land Ramos.

He is well into his 30s now and there will no resale value. It’s an odd one too, given Guardiola allows the likes of Kompany, Silva, and Aguero to move on at a certain age.

But on the flipside, Pep could see value in having that experience in his camp for next season. Regardless of what people think of Ramos, nobody can deny he is a serial winner.

So, while Ramos might be past his very best days, he could still offer Manchester City something they do miss at the moment.
