Report: Malinovskyi has agreed to join Tottenham; fee being discussed
Ruslan Malinovskyi has agreed a move to join Tottenham Hotspur, with Tutto Atalanta reporting that Spurs are still working on a fee for the Atalanta star.
Malinovskyi is perhaps the latest name to emerge as a target for Antonio Conte’s men over the last few days. Reports claimed that Tottenham are close to agreeing a deal for the Ukraine international.
And it seems that they have now cleared a major hurdle in their pursuit of the attacking midfielder.
Tutto Atalanta reports that Malinovskyi has given the green light to a move to Spurs. Talks are continuing over the potential terms of a deal.
According to Tutto Atalanta, Tottenham want to sign the 29-year-old on loan with an option to buy. Atalanta however, want to sell him permanently. And they are looking for a fee of at least £16.9 million.
The two clubs are still some distance apart.
Malinovskyi agreed Tottenham move
Tottenham have done some superb business during the summer transfer window. They have clearly signed many of the players Antonio Conte requested. And their squad is in a much stronger position.
Therefore, you would imagine that if Conte wants to sign Malinovskyi, Fabio Paratici will make sure that an agreement gets across the line.
Obviously, the situation may be different if Atalanta were demanding over £30 million for the midfielder. But meeting the asking price should clearly not be a problem for Tottenham.
And with that, Spurs should be able to agree a deal if Conte is keen to sign the player.
Malinovskyi is reportedly ready to make the switch in the coming weeks.
The ball is now in Tottenham’s court to try and agree a fee with his club.
