Report: Loan move most likely for Arsenal defender Bellerin

A loan deal is the most likely exit for Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin this summer, according to the Telegraph.

What’s the story?

The £110k-per-week Spain international is desperately looking for a new challenge after falling down the pecking order.

Bellerin featured inconsistently last season, especially towards the end of the campaign. He made just 24 starts in the Premier League, regularly switching for Cedric Soares and Calum Chambers.

He has had interest from various clubs across Italy, Spain and France.

A swap deal with Atletico Madrid for Kieran Trippier has been mooted by It strengthens the claims from the Telegraph that a swap deal is the most likely outcome in the final few days of the window.

Bellerin exit is a necessity

Letting Bellerin leave is a necessity for Arsenal this summer.

The club’s start to the new season has been terrible and shown the need for further recruitment in the transfer market.

However, it will only happen if players are sold. The Gunners have started off the final few days in sensational fashion, with Willian and Lucas Torreira close to exiting the club.

Right-back has proved to be a worrying position for Mikel Arteta this summer. Despite possessing four players, none of the quartet prove good enough to start. Chambers and Soares have both struggled in each of the first two games.

Meanwhile, Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are yet to play a minute of action.

Of any position, the right-side of defence needs to be the priority in what remains of the window.
