Liverpool are monitoring Matthijs de Ligt, with Calciomercato reporting that Jurgen Klopp is thinking about a move for the Juventus defender.
Juve will have to replace one of their key defenders this summer with Giorgio Chiellini leaving. Unsurprisingly, they are keen to agree a new contract with De Ligt.

Calciomercato reports that a two-year extension is on the table for the 22-year-old. However, the report states that his future in Turin is far from certain.
De Ligt is happy with Juve. But there is interest from elsewhere. Calciomercato reports that Chelsea are long-time admirers of the youngster. Meanwhile, Liverpool are also considering a move for De Ligt.

His release clause stands at £106 million. And it is suggested that lowering that release clause could influence whether the centre-back signs a new contract with Juventus.
He is not ruling out moving away in the future. So the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea will be monitoring developments in the near future.
Liverpool monitoring Matthijs de Ligt
Liverpool have an outstanding group of centre-back options. Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez have not exactly played regularly this term. And the pair are absolutely brilliant players.
Konate looks as though he has an amazing future ahead. He boast a remarkable record for the club following his move last summer.
Meanwhile, Gomez has achieved so much on Merseyside. So signing a new centre-back does appear to be an urgent priority.
But if De Ligt is available, it is no surprise that Liverpool are keeping an eye on his situation. His potential is ‘incredible‘. Jaap Stam backed De Ligt to become ‘the best defender in the world‘.
And it would be sensational if Liverpool could bring him to Anfield at some stage in the future.
