Report: Liverpool 'like' £60m-rated star who's already impressed by Anfield
According to a report from Goal, Liverpool ‘like’ the look of Wolves star Pedro Neto, who impressed at Molineux last season.
Neto, 21, was in sensational form for Wolves before an injury curtailed his progress late in the season. Before that, he’d scored five goals for Nuno Santo’s side and set a further six up.
Neto has already been impressed by what he’s seen at Anfield. Per Rousing the Kop, he explained how he feels Liverpool is the toughest away ground in the Premier League.
The Wolves star is thought to be valued at around the £60m mark, although that value could be as high as £77m.
However, while Liverpool do like Neto, it’s worth noting that Goal suggest no deal is likely this summer. Neto’s injury means clubs are looking to see how he bounces back.
Wolves, too, are likely to want to keep their man. New manager Bruno Lage will want all his best players available following the departure of Nuno Santo.
Everton have also expressed an interest in Neto.
Sky’s the limit
Of all the young players in the Premier League, Neto was one of the very outstanding ones last season. His injury came at a cruel time and Wolves’ form did indeed dip without him.
Neto is still just 21. Quite remarkable given the performance levels he has delivered and the consistency he brings.
There is no doubting a move will come eventually. It’s more a case of when, and not if. Hopefully, his injury is nothing serious and Liverpool will no doubt be keeping a close eye on proceedings.
As with Diogo Jota, the Reds won’t be scared of bringing in the Wolves man if they feel he’s the right fit.
