Report: Everton admire Wolves' Pedro Neto

Everton admire Wolves attacker Pedro Neto, according to Liverpool Echo.

The links come amid reports over a potential move to Goodison Park for the player’s former boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

According to Sky Sports, the Merseysiders are in talks with the Portuguese coach over their vacant manager’s role.

The former Porto coach left Molineux Stadium at the end of last season due to a mutual agreement.

Neto enjoyed a breakthrough season in the Premier League last season. The youngster scored five times and assisted a further six. He missed the last few games of the campaign due to a knee injury.

However, there are less than optimistic reports over some of the Blues playes. According to The Athletic, Richarlison has been left unhappy by Carlo Ancelotti’s departure and could seek an exit.

The star was once labelled a ‘huge talent‘ by pundit Alan Shearer.

TBR View: Neto would be an astute transfer acquisition for Everton

Neto had a brilliant season with the Midlanders under the management of Nuno. However, the coach’s exit will no doubt have an impact on much of the Wolves squad.

The former Porto coach had a sensational impact on the club. He helped them to back-to-back seventh place finishes and reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

Should Everton secure the 47-year-old, signing Neto would be a brilliant piece of business.

His directness in the final third mixed with his end product makes him a terrifying player.

And at the age of 21, the Portugal international provides scope for further improvement in the future.

The only downside for the Blues is the prospective transfer fee. Neto’s current deal runs out in 2025 meaning Wolves are likely to demand an enormous fee for the attacker.

Age, ability and having worked under a prospective managerial target, Neto would be a brilliant bit of business for the Merseysiders.
