Liverpool are one of the teams interested in Rafael Leao as AC Milan look to agree a new contract with their star forward, according to a report from Calciomercato.It.

Of course, he helped Milan to the Scudetto last season with a major contribution. And the 23-year-old has scored four goals and contributed eight assists in 13 games in all competitions this season.

But the report adds that Liverpool are also in the mix.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Milan plan to offer him a new deal in the coming days. His release clause currently stands at over £130 million. But in the background, Jorge Mendes is involved in talks about his future.

Leao would certainly be a brilliant signing for any of his admirers. He is improving at a rapid rate. And it appears to be absolutely massive that Milan keep him in Italy.

Liverpool reminded everyone of how impressive their attack can be in their last two games. They put seven past Rangers in the Champions League. And Mohamed Salah was back to his best as he then scored the winner against Manchester City.

Leao would arguably be one of the few players who would help Liverpool improve on what they already have. He is an ‘electric’ player who has been compared with Thierry Henry (via The Athletic).

And plenty of Liverpool fans will be very pleased to hear that the Reds are in the mix for his signature.
