Report: Liverpool fascinated by Sassuolo and Italy star Berardi
Liverpool are ‘fascinated by the movements and offensive capacity’ of Sassuolo ace Domenico Berardi, according to Corriere della Sera.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the winger during this transfer window. According to recent reports, the Italian is high on the list of targets for Jurgen Klopp.
He could be available for around £43m, according to one report.
Berardi was away with Italy during their victory at Euro 2020. He enjoyed a successful campaign with the Azzurri, appearing in six of the seven games.
The Sassuolo attacker has enjoyed a brilliant campaign in Serie A, scoring 17 times in 30 league games.
Liverpool fascinated: Berardi could be a good replacement if someone leaves
Berardi would be an astute addition to the Merseysiders attack.
His quality has been on full show for the last year for both club and country. As well as his 18 goals, he also registered seven assists for the Black and Greens.
However, Klopp is inundated with attackers, making a move for Berardi incredibly unlikely. The only way Liverpool can sign the ace would be if they sold one of their three attackers.
Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have built up a relationship and Chemistry since they first played together.
To displace and interrupt the trio would be more harmful than helpful for Liverpool.
The only way Berardi fits into the side would be if one of the three attackers were to leave the club.
