Report: Liverpool could buy 'perfect' 22-year-old midfielder for under £60m
Liverpool have been linked with Aurelien Tchouameni in recent months.
Now, a report by AS – via Sport Witness – claims the Reds could pick him up for under £60m.
French outlet Foot Mercato has recently claimed that Liverpool have made contact with Tchouameni’s camp.
Jurgen Klopp is apparently planning for a midfield future without James Milner and Jordan Henderson.
And the Reds boss reportedly sees the Monaco starlet as the perfect replacement.
However, Tchouameni is apparently also on the radar of virtually every other top club in Europe.
As well as Liverpool, the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG and Juventus are also eyeing the 22-year-old.
But according to AS, Real have found out Monaco’s asking price is €70m (£59m), and that’s too much for them.
Juventus would also struggle with that fee, while Chelsea would have to wait until new owners are in place, added the report.
This would leave a clearer path for Liverpool – or indeed the Red Devils or PSG – for Tchouameni.
“He’s really, really good”
Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that Tchouameni would be “perfect” for the Premier League.
He told Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE: “Premier League clubs want him since long time.
“Tchouameni was top of Chelsea’s list last summer.
“It was impossible to sign Tchouameni because Monaco didn’t want to sell him. Now they are open to sell.
“At the moment, everything is still open.
“But my personal opinion, whoever signs Tchoumaneni will get a fantastic signing.
“In my opinion he’s really, really good and perfect for the Premier League.”
