Fabio Paratici has decided to make tying Heung-Min Son down to a new contract one of his first priorities amid interest from Liverpool, 90 Minutes report.
Son’s current contract currently expires in 2023, meaning Tottenham are under pressure to get the forward tied down sooner rather than later.
Tottenham were said to be growing slightly concerned about Son, as Liverpool and Manchester City are both known ‘admirers’ of him.
However, it seems that Paratici’s initial chats with the South Korean have progressed well.
Good progress
Tottenham’s new sporting director is now said to be determined to get Son tied down in the near future.
Much has been made of the players who Paratici might sign for Tottenham, but getting Son tied down to a new deal could be a more important move than any transfer.

Outside of Harry Kane, Son is surely Tottenham’s most important player, and has been called world class by Gary Neville on Sky.
His ability to cut inside and shoot, combined with his tireless running makes him a major threat and a vital part of Spurs’ line-up.
If new Tottenham boss Nuno is to be successful he will need Son in red hot form, with Liverpool actually one of the sides Spurs are intent on catching next term.
