Report: Rodgers wants to beat Arsenal and Tottenham to Henry-like talent
Leicester City have now joined the transfer race to sign RB Salzburg striker, Patson Daka, who is wanted by a host of Premier League teams this summer.
Daka is a wanted man. As previously reported on TBR, West Ham are another club hoping to land the Zambian star. Daka’s goals for Salzburg have caught the eye. His 34 one of the most impressive totals in all of Europe.
The 22-year-old has previously been compared to Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry. Quite the compliment for a player yet to do it at the very highest of levels.
However, he could have the chance to prove himself in England. The Daily Express has claimed that Leicester have now thrown their name in the hat to sign Daka.
Brendan Rodgers is hoping to land Daka ahead of former club Liverpool, while Spurs and Arsenal, as well as Chelsea, are all keen.
It is widely expected that Daka will move on this summer. RB Leipzig will also be in the mix, given their affiliation with Salzburg.
Leicester, meanwhile, are also pushing to sign Celtic striker, Odsonne Edouard. The Frenchman is said to be close to joining, once again, turning down Arsenal in favour of the Foxes.
Patson Daka could be one of the big transfer stories of the summer
There aren’t many as exciting on the European scene at the moment. Daka brings pace, goals, and a raw ability that is enticing and easy on the eye.
Salzburg know they will lose him eventually. It’s more a case of when, rather than if.
For Daka, it seems like he has the pick of the bunch. Leicester would be a good move for him long-term. But whether he can dislodge the likes of Vardy and Iheanacho, as well as the incoming Edouard, is open for debate.
Leicester, though, look like they mean business again. Rodgers is getting so much right, and Daka would be another fine addition.
