Report: Leicester and Premier League duo interested in Arsenal ace Maitland-Niles
Leicester City, Southampton and Burnley are keen on Arsenal ace Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to BBC.
The ‘fantastic’ ace has returned to pre-season with the Gunners following his loan move with West Bromwich Albion.
After falling out of favour at the start of last season, Maitland-Niles spent the second half of the term with the Baggies. And he enjoyed an excellent period despite the side’s relegation.
The Foxes and Saints were competing to sign the ace in January, but, missed out to Sam Allardyce’s side.
Arsenal can engineer a swap deal between Maddison and Maitland-Niles news
Arsenal could and should engineer a swap deal between Leicester ace James Maddison and Maitland-Niles.
It makes plenty of sense for the Gunners who are chasing a number 10 and hold an interest in the former Norwich man.
The midfielder averaged more passes per league game than any of Arteta’s players. For a side that lack creativity, adding such a player of his ilk would be a great move.
An attacking midfielder has become a priority for the Gunners since Martin Odegaard returned to Real Madrid.
The Hale End academy prospect seems to have been made redundant by Mikel Arteta. His lack of ability coupled with a reluctance to play in defence has made his position at the club insupportable.
And replacing him with the likes of Maddison would be a fantastic deal for Mikel Arteta.
