Leeds United have now made their move to sign World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi, with Foot Mercato reporting they presented an offer to Angers this week.
Jesse Marsch will be eager to bolster his squad this month as his side sit just two points above the relegation zone.
The Whites have played some brilliant football at times this season but the American boss is struggling to produce consistent results.
Fabrizio Romano reported today that Leeds are close to landing Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter, after missing out on several attacking targets over the summer.
But it seems they are also trying to bring in another midfielder as they’ve already made their move to sign Ounahi.

Leeds make move to sign Ounahi
Foot Mercato claims Leeds are in the process of wrapping up a deal for Rutter, with the Frenchman set to make a £26 million switch to Elland Road.
But Marsch is also interested in bringing Ounahi to West Yorkshire and they’ve already presented an offer to Angers for the 22-year-old.
Ounahi enjoyed a brilliant World Cup campaign with Morocco and was a standout performer in the middle of the park. The midfielder’s displays were described as ‘terrific’ and he’s been attracting plenty of interest ever since.
The likes of Tottenham, Leicester City and Newcastle United have been touted as possible destinations for the Moroccan star but it seems that Leeds have made the first move.

Marsch will be delighted if his side can confirm the signing of Rutter over the next few days to give him a much-needed alternative option up-front.
Leeds are well-stocked in central midfield with the likes of Tyler Adams making a massive impact since moving to Elland Road.
But as Mateusz Klich has now left the club they will need to replace him and Ounahi could be a brilliant addition.
The midfielder produced some eye-catching displays in Qatar and helped Morocco to an unlikely third-place finish at the World Cup.
Marsch will be desperate to improve the quality of his squad and judging by Ounahi’s displays last month, he could be a brilliant partner for Adams in midfield.
But Leeds will certainly have to push the boat out to sign him, with L’Equipe claiming that Angers want around £40 million for their World Cup star.
