Leeds United are one of the sides ready to make a bid for Cody Gakpo, but VI in The Netherlands notes that he will cost at least £33.8 million in the final weeks of the transfer window.

Gakpo is one player who could move to the Premier League before the deadline. Certainly, there is a lot of interest in the PSV Eindhoven star.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal want the 23-year-old. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest and Manchester United have joined the race in the last few days.

Leeds are another who want the forward. And according to VI, the Whites are now ready to make an offer for Gakpo. PSV however, will only consider offers worth at least €40 million for the youngster.

PSV have wanted to keep Gakpo while they battle to make the group-stages of the Champions League. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side face Rangers in the play-off stage later this month.

So you would imagine that Gakpo’s future will be resolved after that tie. And it seems that Leeds are one of the sides ready to make their move once PSV have taken on the Gers.

Gakpo would be the name at the top of a lot of Leeds fans’ wishlists in the final stages of the window. He has been prolific for goals and assists.

He can also play across the front four. Gakpo is predominantly a winger. But he is also capable of playing up front. So he would provide cover and competition for Patrick Bamford.

Clearly, he will cost a huge sum. Leeds would have to break their club-record to bring him to Elland Road.

But it does appear that they may be planning to try their luck in the near future.
