Leeds United have seemingly received a small boost in their reported pursuit of Rodrigo De Paul, with Tuttomercatoweb suggesting that the Udinese midfielder has rejected a move elsewhere this summer.
The Telegraph reported late last month that De Paul was Leeds’s number one midfield target for the final weeks of the window. The report noted that the 26-year-old would cost at least £25 million.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds can get their man. But it does appear that they have been handed reason for encouragement.
Tuttomercatoweb has claimed that De Paul has turned down the chance to join Zenit during this window. It is speculated that he may be holding out for a move to another Serie A side.

TBR View: Onus on Leeds to step up interest
There appears to have been little indication as to whether De Paul is interested in moving to Elland Road.
However, there were potentially positive signs this week when the Argentinian liked a tweet from a Leeds supporter asking about a potential move to West Yorkshire.
The pressure is now on Leeds to make their move. Rival clubs are making their own bids for De Paul. And, based on the latest report, the Whites could have missed out had he been interested in moving to Zenit – who will be in the Champions League once again this year.
If Leeds are keen, they will obviously not be simply sitting back and letting others make their move. But the longer their pursuit goes on, the more opportunity there may be for De Paul to move elsewhere.
Zenit’s interest seemingly proved to be a false alarm. But they may not be so lucky next time.
