Report: Leeds have now made £16.7m bid for Arnaud Kalimuendo

Leeds United have just made a £16.7 million bid for Arnaud Kalimuendo, with Media Foot reporting that that is the minimum amount Paris Saint-Germain want for the striker.

Leeds fans will be hoping that the Whites now step up their bid to sign a new goalscorer. Jesse Marsch’s men arguably still need another forward ahead of the new season.

It is all but confirmed that Charles De Ketelaere will move elsewhere.

Reports at the weekend claimed that Leeds are optimistic that they can agree a deal for Che Adams. But the name who has been linked most heavily, other than De Ketelaere, has been Kalimuendo.

And it seems that they may have stepped up their interest in the Frenchman. According to Media Foot, they have now made a £16.7 million bid for Kalimuendo.

PSG want up to £20.9 million for Kalimuendo, but will consider the amount Leeds have offered.

For his part, Kalimuendo knows that his path to the first-team at Parc des Princes is blocked. So he may well be tempted to consider a move away.

Leeds make bid for Kalimuendo

Leeds looked superb going forward on Sunday as they beat Cagliari in their final pre-season friendly. They put six past the Italian side. And Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo were amongst the goals.

But it does appear to be imperative that they do strengthen up front.

Perhaps the options they do have will tempt Victor Orta to take more of a gamble on a less proven player such as Kalimuendo.

The 20-year-old has still scored 19 goals across the last two Ligue 1 seasons. His ceiling looks to be incredibly high.

So it could be inspired if Leeds manage to now agree a deal with PSG for the young striker.
