Report: Leeds are interested in signing Marseille striker Bamba Dieng
Jesse Marsch’s side have done well in this transfer window so far.
The Whites have brought in six new players, but they still need a forward who can play alongside, as well as in place of, Patrick Bamford this season. To add to that, Leeds also need someone who can compensate for Raphinha’s goals following his departure.
Marseille and Senegal star Dieng is reportedly an option.
Leeds United want to sign Marseille forward Bamba Dieng
Dieng has long been linked with a move to the Premier League.
The likes of Newcastle United and West Ham were both linked in the January transfer window, and the two sides are now set to face some serious competition.
The report claims that along with Leeds, Newcastle and West Ham, fellow English clubs Everton, Wolves and Crystal Palace are also keen to sign the Senegal international.
Dieng, who still has two years left on his contract, scored eight goals and provided three assists in all competitions last season.
He shoots almost as often as Harry Kane
Statistically, Dieng is a shot-heavy player. He almost shoots as much as Tottenham Hotspur and England superstar Harry Kane, according to GFFN.
We’re not saying Dieng is anywhere near as good as Kane, but the Senegal star is a decent player. He can play anywhere across the front three, is really ‘skilful in front of goal‘, and the fact that he’s still only 22 means he’ll only get better in the coming years.
The report claims that Leeds are showing interest in Dieng this summer, but if Marsch wants him, he’ll have to be quick as plenty of other clubs are said to be keen as well.
