Report: Klopp has big faith in 'special' 21-year-old Liverpool youngster, doesn't want to block his path
Liverpool and their manager Jurgen Klopp have huge faith academy graduate Curtis Jones ahead of next season.
Goal report that the potential of the 21-year-old is one reason that Liverpool have not rushed into a midfield signing this summer.
The Reds look like they could do with a new, more creative presence in their engine room but there is a feeling more is to come from Jones.
The report also says that Harvey Elliott could also provide that next term after his 2021/22 was interrupted by a serious injury.
Liverpool have huge faith in Curtis Jones
Liverpool have no intention of giving up on Jones any time soon and they will not consider any offers to let him go.
The report says the FA Cup holders rejected an ambitious loan offer from Leeds United ahead of the start of last season.
Aston Villa have apparently been keen too but Liverpool are not willing to do business for Jones, because they believe he is capable of taking that next step.
The elephant in the room is Jude Bellingham, who looks set to be the man Liverpool want to add to their midfield.
Given Borussia Dortmund only tend to sell one starlet per summer and they have already offloaded Erling Haaland this summer, that looks like it will need to wait until next year.
But Klopp has described Jones as ‘special‘ and it seems he will get at least one more season to prove that and nail down a starting spot before a new midfield signing comes in.
