Report: Jorge Mendes wants Liverpool to sign three-goal star after inspired 2019 deal

Jorge Mendes is working to try and secure a Liverpool move for Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho, believing that the Reds are interested in the 19-year-old, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Carvalho has been linked with a host of sides in recent months. His contract at Craven Cottage expires next summer.

Leeds and West Ham were linked recently, while Real Madrid were also named as admirers of the attacking midfielder.

And it appears that a resolution on his future may not be too far away.

According to the Daily Mail, Mendes is working on trying to seal a lucrative move for the teenager.

And having failed to tempt Barcelona or Real Madrid into taking him, he now believes that he will have more luck with the Reds.

It is noted that he has a good relationship with Liverpool. He was involved in Diogo Jota moving to Anfield from Wolves.

And he hopes that the success of the move for Harvey Elliott will tempt Liverpool into following up on their interest in Carvalho.

Fabio Carvalho move worth the gamble for Liverpool

Carvalho has made an incredibly bright start to life in the Fulham first-team. He scored in the Premier League last season.

And he opened this campaign with three goals in his first four league appearances.

Injury and illness saw him spend some time on the sidelines shortly after. But he is now back available for Marco Silva’s men.

What will certainly encourage those at Liverpool who may consider a move for Carvalho is that he boasts an outrageous record at youth level.

Across 82 games for the club’s under-18s and under-23s, he scored 33 goals and contributed 19 assists.

He has played all over the forward line also. So he would provide the kind of versatility that Jurgen Klopp would love.

And given his contract situation, the Reds will surely be tempted if Mendes does indeed get in contact.
